9 Children, 6 Adults Displaced After Garfield Park Fire

One person was injured in the fire, officials said.

CHICAGO, IL — About 15 people, including nine children, have been displaced after a fire in West Garfield Park Thursday morning, fire officials said. The fire broke out in a building in the 4000 block of West Gladys Avenue, the Chicago Fire Department said. The fire was put out just after 6 a.m., officials said.

One person was taken to a hospital with minor injuries, authorities said. A warming bus arrived on scene to help those who were displaced.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
