Ald. Cardenas Reports Vandalism At His Home

The alderman posted a picture on Twitter of his smashed window.

CHICAGO, IL — Police are investigating after a Chicago alderman reported vandalism at his home. Ald. George Cardenas (12th) posted photos of his broken window on Twitter. In the tweet, Cardenas commented that "criminals are more brazen than ever."

The alderman's home was also vandalized in late 2015 by a mob of more than 50 people protesting police violence in the city, according to the alderman and police. The alderman said the mob carried tiki torches, and threw rocks and pieces of wood at his home.

The alderman posted his tweet about the latest vandalism Sunday night, which read, "Home vandalized. Election cycle in full swing. One thing for sure, criminals more brazen then ever. Our commitment has to be tough on all types of crime."
