Ald. Ricardo Munoz Arrested In Domestic Violence Incident: Police

The alderman was taken into custody at his office in Little Village, police said.

CHICAGO — Alderman Ricardo Munoz (22nd) has been arrested after a domestic violence incident on New Year's Eve, police confirmed Wednesday. Munoz got into a verbal argument with his wife, and it escalated and became physical, police said.

In the argument, police said Munoz "pushed and struck [his wife] throughout the body."

Munoz was taken into custody at his aldermanic office in the 2500 block of South St. Louis.

Police are investigating. No further details were released.

Munoz, a long-serving member of the Chicago City Council, is not seeking re-election. He represents the 22nd Ward on the city's Southwest Side. Four candidates are on the ballot to replace him in the February elections.
