“The $574,005 from the State of Illinois represents an important contribution to Broadview’s ongoing efforts to revitalize and repair our streets, crosswalks, and utility lines,” said Thompson. “And I want to thank Speaker Chris Welch and Senate Majority Leader Kimberly Lightford, who represent Broadview in Springfield, for their support to ensure that Broadview receives its fair share of infrastructure money for investment in our community.”

The mayor also extender her appreciation to Pritzker, too.

“Governor Pritzker deserves enormous credit for both successfully steering the $45 billion capital legislation through the legislature in 2019 and recognizing the infrastructure investment needs of small communities, such as Broadview,” said Thompson. “I am grateful to Governor for investing and believing in Broadview.”

The funding for Broadview is made possible by the Rebuild Illinois Public Infrastructure capital program approved in 2019 by the Illinois General Assembly with bi-partisan support.
