Carjackings Reported In Near West
One of the vehicles was stolen from a valet, police said.
CHICAGO, IL — Police have issued a community alert for residents in the 12th District warning of violent carjackings in the area. In one of the incidents, a valet was parking a vehicle, when suspects approached him and showed handguns, police said. The suspects struck the victim, took his phone and drove off in the vehicle, police said.
In another carjacking, five offenders approached a victim who had just parked a car, and one of them pulled out a handgun and stole the vehicle, police said.
