West Side Extra-Alarm Blaze Scorches 4 Structures, Displaces 18 People
Nearly 20 people were displaced Wednesday afternoon when a fire got legs in the city's Heart of Chicago neighborhood.

CHICAGO, IL - Eighteen people were displaced Wednesday afternoon after a 3-11 fire scorched their West Side homes.
No one was injured in the blaze, which was first reported just before 5 p.m. and extinguished by Chicago firefighters less than an hour later.

"Extra firefighters were deployed so crews could be rotated every 15 to 20 minutes as temperatures exceeded 90 degrees," reported The Chicago Tribune.
Firefighters said the damage spanned four structures in the 2000 block of West 21st Place.

Photos shared by the Chicago Fire Department on Twitter show a red, two-story building with smoke but no flames.
