Gun, Pot Found With 1-Year-Old Boy In Baby Stroller Pushed By Austin Man
Anthony Kennedy, 32, faces firearm, drug and child endangerment charges stemming from the incident last week.

CHICAGO, IL — An Austin man was arrested last week outside his home after he was discovered allegedly pushing a 1-year-old boy in a baby stroller that also was carrying a handgun and marijuana in it, according to Chicago police.
Anthony Kennedy, 32, of the 100 block of North Leclaire Avenue, was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon — a felony — and misdemeanor child endangerment and marijuana possession in the Saturday, March 25, incident. He also was wanted on previous, unconnected charges of misdemanor domestic battery, two counts of criminal damage to property and two counts of a violation of an order of protection.
Kennedy is currently being held on $1oo,000 bail, and his next court date is Friday, March 31.

According to police, officers responded to a call about a person with a gun at about 3:18 p.m. Friday, March 24, in the 100 block of North Leclaire Avenue. Believing he was carrying a firearm, police confronted Kennedy, who then fled.
Officers then uncovered a handgun and pot, along with a 1-year-old boy, in the baby stroller Kennedy had been pushing, police said. He was taken into custody by police, and a background check on Kennedy revealed the outstanding charges against him.

The 1-year-old boy was placed in the care of a relative after Kennedy's arrest.
