CHICAGO — A 51-year-old man was attacked with a hammer during a carjacking in the city's Humboldt Park neighborhood Thursday, police said. Two women and two men approached the victim at about 3:18 a.m. while he was unloading items from his grey Lexus SUV in the 2600 block of West Haddon, according to police.
One of the women started hitting the victim in the head with a hammer, and the other three people beat him up, police said.
The group then drove off in the man's SUV, and at least one of the offenders took off in a Chevy sedan that the group pulled up in earlier.
