CHICAGO, IL — A 28-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after a stabbing on Chicago's West Side, police said. A 32-year-old man was stabbed multiple times Friday in West Town, according to police. Marvin Higgs is charged with attempted murder, police said, and appeared in court Sunday.
Higgs shares custody with the mother of his child, according to a report by the Chicago Tribune. Prosecutors said the mother and another man were picking up the child from Higgs' apartment in West Town, and Higgs' uncle walked the child out of the apartment, according to the report.
Prosecutors said an argument broke out between the victim and Higgs' uncle, and Higgs heard the fight and grabbed a switchblade, the Tribune reported. A surveillance video shows him stabbing the victim in the back and legs, according to the report.
