Man Shot During Car Theft On West Side
A suspect shot the man and stole his car in the Heart of Chicago neighborhood, police said.

CHICAGO — A car theft in the city's Heart of Chicago Monday morning left a 29-year-old man critically wounded, police said. The victim was shot in the 1600 block of West Cullerton around 1:30 a.m., according to police.
The man got out of his white sedan and left it running on the road, when another man jumped inside, police said. When the victim returned to his car, the offender shot him in the abdomen, according to police.
The victim was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, authorities said.

Area Central detectives were investigating. No one was in custody.
