Man Tried to Lure Young Girl: Cops

Chicago, IL - Police on the West Side are investigating an incident last week in which they say a man attempted to lure a young girl into his car.

According to a police report, a 12-year-old girl was walking in the 500 block of N. Monticello Ave. around 8:55 a.m. on Monday, July 11 when a man driving a silver minivan followed her, calling out “Come here little girl.”

As the girl kept walking, the man drove onto Garfield Square Drive and blocked her path. He then said “get in the car,” according to the report.

The girl fled safely to a friend’s home.

The offender is described as a white man, approximately 25-35 years old with a bald head and wearing a dark blue shirt at the time of the incident.
