Men In Van Try To Lure 4-Year-Old Girl With Candy: Police

The attempted child luring happened on Chicago's Northwest Side, police said.

CHICAGO, IL — Police have issued a community alert warning of an attempted child luring Tuesday afternoon on Chicago's Northwest Side. The incident happened around 4:15 p.m. in the 4000 block of North Plainfield in the Irving Woods neighborhood, police said. A 4-year-old girl was outside the front of her home, when a white van pulled up with three men inside, according to police.

The men told the girl they had candy for her, police said. The girl didn't respond and instead ran inside her home, according to police.

The men were described as being in their 20s or 30s and driving a white minivan or van, but no further description of the suspects was available, police said.
