(Broadview, IL) – A newly-awarded federal government grant of $200,000 to the Village of Broadview will allow the village to expand its alley repair program.

The $200,000 Community Development Block Grant will boost Broadview’s alley repair initiative to a total of $452,000 dedicated to alley reconstruction, allowing for two additional alleys to be upgraded on the north side of Roosevelt Road. A total of six alleys north of Roosevelt Road will be repaired.

“Upgrading Broadview’s streets, sidewalks, alleys and other infrastructure is a key strategy of my administration to bring new business, new jobs, and new residents to the town,” said Mayor Katrina Thompson. “That is why my staff and I pursue every possible federal or state grant available to invest in Broadview because we must build our own prosperity right here at home.”
