Police Warn Of Attempted Child Luring On West Side

Police have issued a community alert warning that a suspect chased girls in Chicago's South Austin neighborhood, then got into a rusted van.

CHICAGO, IL — A man chased girls on Chicago's West Side while they were walking home from school on Wednesday, police said. The incident happened in the South Austin neighborhood in the 4800 block of West Ohio Street just after 5 p.m., according to a community alert. The man then got into a rusted white van, police said.

After the suspect began to follow the girls, they ran away, and he began chasing them, police said. The girls then saw him get into the van, according to the community alert.

The man is described as black with brown eyes and black hair, around 30 to 50 years old, and wearing all black clothing.
