Renovated Splash Pad Grand Opening at Broadview’s Schroeder Park on June 19
The Village of Broadview provided $800,000 in capital funds for the Splash Pad and swimming pool renovations

(Broadview, IL) – The Broadview Park District will hold an official grand opening of the district’s newly renovated Splash Pad, unveiling an exciting new recreational destination for children and families of the Village of Broadview and the general public outside of Broadview to enjoy throughout the summer season.
Community members are invited to join the celebration at Broadview’s Schroeder Park on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. for a ceremonial ribbon-cutting and for the first official splash of the season.
The newly renovated Splash Pad features modern water play elements, upgraded safety enhancements, improved infrastructure, and a refreshed design created to provide a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for residents of all ages.

“This renovation reflects our ongoing commitment to investing in recreational spaces that strengthen our community, support families, and create opportunities for residents to connect and enjoy quality outdoor experiences,” said the Broadview Park District Board of President Tanecia Reed. “We are proud to partner with the Village of Broadview and all of the professionals who helped make this vision a reality for our residents.”
This project was made possible in partnership between the park district and Mayor Katrina Thompson and the Village of Broadview by providing $800,000 in capital funds for the Splash Pad and swimming pool renovations.

"Investing in Broadview’s infrastructure is about more than just maintaining roads and buildings; it is about investing in the health, happiness, and future of our families,” said Thompson. “By allocating $800,000 in capital funds to the Broadview Park District for the splash pad and swimming pool renovations, the Village is ensuring that our community remains a vibrant, welcoming, and fun place to live, play, and grow.”
The park district’s top administrator expressed appreciation to contractors JSD Professional Services, Inc., for architectural and design services, and Hacienda Landscaping for landscaping, the Village of Broadview, among other stakeholders.
“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to our Board of Commissioners, staff, contractors, community partners, and residents whose support and dedication helped make this project possible,” said the Broadview Park District Executive Director Darion Hills. “Having a strong and productive relationship within the Village of Broadview provides our residents with best-in-class community service.”
The grand opening event is free and open to the general public. Schroeder Park is located 2600 South 13th Avenue, Broadview, Illinois. Use of the splash pad is open to the public free of charge. Use of the district’s pool includes a residential fee and non-residential fee.
