Stolen Items Displayed for Recovery on West Side

Items recovered from a West Side man accused of selling stolen goods from his home will be available for victims to recover.

Chicago, IL - Victims who have had their belongings stolen as part of a large-scale trafficking ring on the West Side will have the opportunity to recover their items this weekend.

The viewing of the stolen items will be at the Chicago Police 15th District Police Station Community Room at 5701 W. Madison Ave. from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 15 and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 16. Victims attending the viewing should bring identification, proof of purchase, copy of police report, as well as any evidence related to their loss (i.e. video, pictures, or witnesses), according to detectives.

The items were recovered last month from a residence in the 5600 block of West Augusta Blvd., where police arrested Jerome Brown, 53 for felony theft. According to police, Brown admitted to selling selling stolen items out of his home for the last 10 years.

Bicycles, snow blowers, landscaping equipment, chainsaws, ladders, construction grade equipment, power tools and tool boxes were among the items recovered.
