Surveillance Image Released In Ukrainian Village Sexual Assault

A woman waiting at a bus stop was punched in the face by a man who later forced her into a gangway and sexually assaulted her.

CHICAGO, IL - Police have released a surveillance image of a suspect in a sexual assault reported in the city's Ukrainian Village neighborhood earlier this month. The image released does not show the front of the suspect's body, and appears to have been taken about an hour after the alleged incident.

Chicago police in the 12th District have said a woman was standing at the bus stop in the 2200 block of West Chicago Ave. around 6:20 a.m. on Dec. 1 when she was approached by an unknown man who punched her in the face and took her cell phone.

The offender then grabbed the victim, pulled her into a gangway across the street and proceeded to sexually assault her, according to police. The offender then fled westbound on Chicago Ave.
