Teens Charged After Elderly Man Victim Of Bump-And-Run Car Theft
A police helicopter helped track down three teenagers accused of stealing an 86-year-old man's car on the West Side Friday morning.

CHICAGO, IL - An 86-year-old man who was driving on Chicago's West Side Friday morning was the victim of a bump-and-run car theft. Three teenagers were charged in connection with the crime after a brief police chase shortly after, according to an alert from the Chicago Police Department.
The elderly man was in traffic in the 600 block of South Kostner Avenue around 11 a.m. when he was bumped in the rear of his 2017 beige Cadillac, according to police. When the man exited his car to access the damage, three offenders entered his car with a weapon and drove away.
Police officers attempted to "curb" the Cadillac a short time later for failure to stop at a stop sign when the offenders fled. A police helicopter followed the car and informed officers on the ground that it was parked near Filmore and Austin and that the three offenders fled on foot.
