Trans Woman Ciara Carter Killed On West Side
She was killed in the 4500 block of West Adams Street, police said. She's the second trans woman killed in Chicago in the past five weeks.

CHICAGO — A transgender woman was stabbed to death Wednesday night in the West Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side. Police said they believe the victim was killed during an argument with a man.
The woman's body was found in the back yard of an abandoned building around 9:28 p.m. in the 4500 block of West Adams Street, authorities said.
Investigators said they believe the man and the woman got into an dispute, and he stabbed her.
Police are searching for a suspect. Area North detectives are investigating.

The woman has been identified as Ciara Minaj Carter by the Human Rights Campaign. Her death marked the second killing of a trans woman in Chicago in five weeks — Dejanay Stanton was killed on Aug. 30.
