Woman Barricades Herself In Room With Daughter On West Side: Cops
SWAT officers surrounded a home in the North Lawndale neighborhood.

CHICAGO, IL — A 31-year-old woman barricaded herself in a room with her 5-year-old daughter on the West Side Monday morning, according to police. Officers were called to the 1800 block of South Springfield Avenue in the North Lawndale neighborhood around 6:18 a.m.
Streets in the area were blocked off and SWAT officers surrounded the building. The officers then entered the home and took the woman into custody. She was sent in an ambulance to Stroger Hospital for evaluation, police said.
The girl did not appear to be injured but was taken to Stroger Hospital as a precaution, police said.
