Woman Killed By CTA Train On West Side: Police

A Green Line train struck the woman at the Cicero stop, police said.

CHICAGO, IL — A woman was killed by a CTA train Sunday night at the Cicero Green Line stop on the West Side, according to police. A witness told police that she was standing on the platform when she was struck around 9:30 p.m. in West Garfield Park. She was pronounced dead on scene.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office hasn't released details about the death, and the woman has not been identified.

Service was halted between the Pulaski and Austin stations while police investigated, CTA said. Shuttle buses were available between Harlem and Conservatory.
