The victim was forced into the building in West Garfield Park on Sunday, police said.

CHICAGO, IL — A woman was sexually assaulted in West Garfield Park late Sunday morning, police said. The assault happened in the 4600 block of West Washington Boulevard, according to police. A man went up to a 21-year-old woman who was walking northbound on Cicero Avenue, and engaged in conversation, police said.

The man then displayed a dark object in his waistband and ordered her to walk with him, according to police. He led the victim into an abandoned building, where he sexually assaulted her, police said. He then took off in an unknown direction, police said.

The offender is described as a black man between 35 and 45 years old, around 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-10 tall and between 140 and 190 pounds. He was last seen wearing an oversize long sleeve button up shirt with a collar that had yellow stains on the back, dark blue jeans and orange, gray and white Nike shoes, police said.
