Woman Shot Escaping From Robber On West Side

The victim was shot twice in the stomach while trying to get away from a man in a ski mask, police said.

CHICAGO, IL — A woman was shot during a robbery in the city's Homan Square neighborhood Tuesday morning, police said. The incident happened in the 3900 block of West Roosevelt Road around 1:20 a.m. The woman, 33, was sitting in her parked car when a man wearing a ski mask walked up to the vehicle, police said.

The man pulled out a gun and tried to rob her, police said. The woman got out of her car and tried to run away, and the suspect fired his gun, hitting her twice in the stomach, police said.

The victim was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in stable condition, police said.
