Young Mother Killed In West Side Drive-By Shooting: Report
A woman, two men and two boys were shot in the city's Homan Square neighborhood Wednesday night, police said.

CHICAGO, IL — Five people were shot in the Homan Square neighborhood Wednesday night, police said. Two boys, a woman and two men were wounded, according to police. The group was standing in the 3500 block of West Grenshaw when someone fired shots from a silver vehicle at 9:42 p.m., police said.
A 15-year-old boy was shot in both legs, and a 17-year-old boy was shot in one leg, police said. Both boys were taken to Stroger Hospital, where they were listed in stable condition, police said.
A 21-year-old woman was struck in the ribs, shoulder and back and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, authorities said. The woman was the mother of a 1-year-old daughter, and later died, according to a report by the Chicago Tribune.

A 19-year-old man was shot in the back and taken to Mount Sinai hospital, where he was listed in good condition, police said. An 18-year-old man was shot twice in the leg and his condition was stabilized in Stroger hospital, according to authorities.
No one was in custody. Area North detectives were investigating the shooting.
