19 Speeding Tickets Doled Out During Child Passenger Safety Week

DuPage County Sheriff's Office issued more than two dozen tickets for speeding, disobeying stop sign and other violations from Sept. 17-30.

WHEATON, IL — The DuPage County Sheriff's Office issued more than two dozen citations for speeding, running a stop sign and other violations during its Child Passenger Safety Week campaign. No seatbelt or child safety seat tickets were given out, a news release said.

The violations issued during the campaign, which ran Sept. 17-30, are as follows:

  • 19 speeding tickets
  • 9 tickets for disobeying a stop sign
  • 1 ticket for distracted driving
  • 1 ticket for expired license plates

Child Passenger Safety Week is part of a statewide push that uses increased patrols, media campaigns and other initiatives to raise awareness about keeping children safe in vehicles.
