2 Families Displaced After Fire Broke Out In Warrenville Sunday

Residents and pets were able to escape their homes safely after a fire broke out in the 30W000 block of Wembly Drive in Warrenville Sunday.

WARRENVILLE, IL — Two families were displaced from their homes after a fire broke out in the 30W000 block of Wembly Drive in Warrenville Sunday. The residents and pets of the homes were able to escape safely with the help of neighbors and members of the Warrenville Police Department.

Firefighters got to the scene around 10:15 a.m. to find two homes affected by fire, with heavy flames coming from the roof of one of the houses. Fire crews used multiple hoses to put out fires on the inside and outside of the homes.

It took approximately 30 minutes to bring the blaze under control, but crews stayed on the scene for "several more hours" to confirm there were no hidden fires and to put out a fire that was coming from a gas meter, a news release said.

No one was hurt in the fire, which rendered both homes uninhabitable. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
