3 Elementary Schools Named National Blue Ribbon Schools In Naperville
See which Naperville schools were recognized at 2022 National Blue Ribbon Schools by the U.S. Department of Education.
NAPERVILLE, IL — Three Naperville elementary schools were recently named 2022 National Blue Ribbon Schools by the U.S. Department of Education. Steeple Run, Highlands and Elmwood Elementary Schools were among 297 schools nationwide and just 17 schools in Illinois to earn the recognition.
The Naperville schools were also named Exemplary High-Performing Schools in the roundup, which was released Friday.
To name its National Blue Ribbon Schools, the department of education evaluates the following metrics:

- Student test scores on state assessments
- Subgroup student scores on state assessments
- Graduation rates
Public schools are submitted for consideration via nominations from high-ranking state education officials and private school nominations are made via the Council for American Private Education.
The schools will receive a special flag that they can display to show their National Blue Ribbon School designation.

Naperville Community Unit School District 203 Superintendent Dan Bridges said in a statement Friday, "I am so proud of the collaborative partnership among the students, staff, parents, and communities in our Blue Ribbon schools that have resulted in academic excellence and significant progress in closing achievement gaps and opportunities.”
