630 Volleyball, a new boys volleyball club the Chicago suburbs, is thrilled to announce it will launch during the 2019-2020 season in a new training center that will arguably serve as the top volleyball facility in all of Illinois.

Located near the intersection of I-355 and 75th Street at 7879 Lemont Road in Darien, the New WAVE Athletic Center is currently under construction. It is expected to be completed by July of this summer. The facility boasts four spacious courts and a 5,279-square-foot strength and conditioning wing that will enable 630 Volleyball to meet the training needs of hundreds of athletes from the 18U to 12U national and regional levels.

“We are confident that this will be the nicest facility in the state and in the Midwest,” said 630 Volleyball Director Alex Hurlburt, who has invested in the sport of boys volleyball at the club, high school, collegiate and national team levels for nearly a decade. “We have secured our primary training home, and we couldn’t be happier with it. This development demonstrates the significant investment we see in the future of this club, the Chicagoland community and in boys volleyball. It is directly in line with the mission statement of 630 Volleyball. Training in a world-class facility like this is essential to best prepare our teams to compete for national championships and prepare boys for collegiate volleyball careers.”

The new training center offers several crucial advantages for boys volleyball athletes and their families. Ample space surrounding the four courts will allow for ideal service practice and training, and a 32-foot ceiling height facilitates a competition-like continuation of play.

“To train to be the best, we need to train in the same environment we compete in,” Hurlburt noted.

The strength and conditioning room – managed by MFC Sports Performance – will allow 630 Volleyball athletes to train their bodies for optimal performance on the court under the guidance of certified, professional trainers. MFC conducts pre- mid- and post-season benchmarks for a variety of volleyball-specific metrics in order to insure significant progress. Training packages and class options will vary and will be optional.

“Weight training on this scale is an integral part of collegiate volleyball programs, making our implementation a great preparation for your future,” Hurlburt said.

Located minutes from I-355 makes this facility accessible to a majority of the Chicago suburbs. And access to four courts at a time will create a highly competitive environment, as multiple teams will work side by side and compete against each other during practice sessions.

“Having access to our own space allows for athletes to come early or stay late to get extra training without having to worry about park district or school gym rentals,” Hurlburt said. “We hope that you are as excited as we are about our one-of-a-kind new training home.”
