7 Brew Moves Closer To Approval For Wheaton Location
The city council directed staff to prepare an ordinance with conditions for the drive-thru coffee shop.

WHEATON, IL — 7 Brew Coffee is one step closer to getting approved to open a drive-thru coffee spot at Rice Lake Square in Wheaton.
On Feb. 17, the Wheaton City Council unanimously approved a motion to direct staff to draft an ordinance for a planned unit development amendment and special use permit. The move comes after the proposal received a positive recommendation from the city's planning commission.
The planning commission's recommendation came with conditions that include ensuring there will be no queueing from East Loop Road into the drive-thru.

During the Feb. 17 meeting, Mayor Phil Seuss asked whether there were any concerns about queuing as cars leave the drive-thru. Representatives from 7 Brew Coffee and City Manager Michael Dzugan suggested exiting vehicles won't be a problem as there are several available exits once a car leaves the drive-thru.
The 900-square foot, single-story coffee shop would be situated between Studio Movie Grill and Houlihan's.
