752 Bike Signs Coming To Wheaton
The city will add 752 bike signs to help cyclists navigate and stay safe.

WHEATON, IL — Bicyclists in Wheaton will soon find it easier to get around the city. Officials announced Monday that the city will add 752 bike signs to promote biking and to help cyclists navigate to some of Wheaton's beloved landmarks and bike paths.
The Bikeway Signage Program will point bike rider in the direction of Prairie Path, downtown Wheaton, the library, and schools in the city. In addition to directional signs, there will also be mile marker signs to help guide the way.
The bike signs came from a partnership between the City of Wheaton, the Wheaton Bicycle Advisory Committee and federal grant funding from the city's Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Committee. According to the city's website, the federal grant funded 80% of the project. The remaining 20% was funded by the City of Wheaton.
