WHEATON, IL — A public park in Wheaton will be closed for part of the summer as crews work to make it more accessible for visitors with disabilities. City officials say the park will be closed for 8 to 10 weeks to allow workers to widen the park's pathways to make them more handicap accessible.

The updates to Adams Park are made possible by a federal grant that is helping to fund a master plan to redesign the property. As the project unfolds, crews will revamp the park's landscaping and adjust brick paths and sidewalks to make them safer and more accessible.

A ramp is also being built around the Adams Park Fountain to allow more visitors to get closer to the fountain.
