AIM Youth Program Recognizes People's Resource Center
AIM, a youth program facilitated by DuCAP presented the PRC with an award after a tour of the facility
On Thursday February 5th, AIM (Active Inspiring Minds) a youth program facilitated by DuCAP (DuPage County Area Project) went for a tour of the Wheaton PRC (People’s Resource Center), and presented the staff with an AIM Award in recognition of their service to the community. The PRC has a direct connection with the youth from the AIM program, as they provide art based activities to the Marian Park apartments in which the youth take part, as well as conducting English and computer literacy classes and job placement assistance for the adults in the community. At the PRC location in Wheaton, the staff and volunteers conduct these same programs, and many others, as well as providing clothing and a food pantry for people all throughout DuPage County.
After AIM described their basic program mission of connecting with and recognizing positive members of the community, and presented the award, staff from the PRC brought the youth for a tour of the facility. The youth were encouraged to ask questions about services, and to have the knowledge to describe services to other people in the community who could benefit for being connected with the PRC.
As AIM prepares to find their next award recipient, you, the reader are encouraged to nominate positive and proactive community members for consideration for future awards. To nominate, email Adam@DuCAP.org with the headline AIM Award Nomination with a description of the individual, company, or organization, and why they should be considered for an award, and stay tuned for the announcement of the next award.
