DoodleBug Workshop, based in downtown Wheaton, is expanding its space and its services. Beginning June 8, a new Adult Day Program will begin for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Adults, ages 18 and older, will enjoy a full range of activities while their parents or caregivers receive some respite time.

Programming is planned for Monday through Friday, 9am-2pm. The number of days a person attends is flexible and slots are still open.

Sarah Starke, executive director of DoodleBug Workshop, said: “We are so excited to launch this next chapter in our history as we outfit our newly added space and plan programming that provides a safe, engaging and educational environment where participants can learn, grow and form lasting friendships.”

The Adult Day Program emphasizes community integration and real-world life experiences that empower each participant to thrive.

Interested families can contact doodlebugworkshop@gmail.com for information and a tour.

DoodleBug Workshop celebrated its 6th anniversary in downtown Wheaton in February and is still offering a weekly vocational program in woodworking for special needs participants and 2-hour craft sessions for Adult Day Programs and high school transition groups.
