WEST CHICAGO — Blooming Fest will mark its 25th year in downtown West Chicago on May 16. One of the highlights of the annual festival is a garden sale, with vendors offering more than 5,000 plants for purchase.
The free event features live music, face painting, balloon twisting, competitive live chalk art and other family-friendly activities.
The entertainment schedule is as follows.
9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.: Juggling by Andy Head
10:15 a.m. to 11 a.m.: Live music from Nanny Nikki
11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.: Live music from District 33 Choir
11:30 a.m.: Unveiling of Fountain Art
11:40 a.m. to 12: 10 p.m.: Dance performance by Innovation Arts Connection
12:15 p.m. to 1 p.m.: The Frog Lady performs with reptiles
1 p.m. to 3 p.m.: Shea Marie Music
During the Chalk the Walk activity, more than artists will depict spring's beauty with chalk illustrations for a chance to win cash prizes.
Dozens of vendors will also be onsite during Blooming Fest, selling food, artisanal crafts, handmade items and other merchandise.
