DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — The DuPage Count Sheriff's Office (DSCO) will increase patrols as part of a safety campaign that coincides with the Fourth of July holiday.
Starting June 19, deputies will focus on enforcing seatbelt and DUI violations.
The DCSO recommends taking the following measures for traffic safety.
“We’re asking all of our residents and visitors to celebrate Independence Day safely,” DuPage County Sheriff James Mendrick said in a statement.
Mendrick added, “It’s simple: If you’re driving, don’t drink or use drugs. Our officers will be out in full force to
keep impaired drivers off the road. This Fourth of July, designate a sober driver and don’t let friends or family members drive under the influence."
The safety initiative, which will be underway through July 6, is part of the statewide "Click It or Ticket" and "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaigns.
