WHEATON, IL — A pedestrian was killed Thursday morning when they were hit by a Union Pacific freight train in downtown Wheaton.
The incident took place just after 9:40 a.m. near Cross and Front Streets, Metra representative Meg Thomas-Reile told Patch.
The investigation halted train travel until just after 11 a.m.
