WHEATON, IL — Kids and their families can get a behind-the-scenes peek into the world of local firefighters and paramedics during the Wheaton Fire Department Open House on Sept. 26.
The event will feature live safety demonstrations that include a vehicle extrication demo conducted by firefighters. Kids are encouraged to bring their stuffed animals for an interactive checkup led by the department's emergency medical technicians.
Fire trucks and other equipment will be on hand for kids to explore. Sparky the Firedog is also scheduled to make an appearance.
