Amy Grant Wins GOP Nomination For IL State House, 42nd District
Grant defeated Burt Minor and Ryan Byrne to win the Republican nomination Tuesday night.

WHEATON, IL — Amy L. Grant has won the GOP nomination for the Illinois State House 42nd District, defeating Burt Minor and Ryan Byrne by a large margin. With 85% of precincts reporting, Grant had 66.14% of votes, Minor had 22.19%, and Byrne had just 11.68%.
Grant will go on to face Democratic candidate Kathleen V. Carrier, who was unchallenged in Tuesday's primaries.
The 42nd District is currently represented by Jeanne Ives, who did not seek re-election in 2018 because she challenged Bruce Rauner for the Republican gubernatorial nomination. Ives was defeated by Rauner in a close race Tuesday.
