Ash Tree Stump Removal Delayed in Wheaton

Heavy rain earlier in the summer has contributed to delays in completing parkway ash tree stump removals in Wheaton.
Crews contracted by the City of Wheaton have removed nearly all of the 6,500 parkway ash trees throughout the city. However, due to weather-related delays, the crews removing ash tree stumps and restoring parkways have been unable to keep pace with tree removals.

Crews are approximately 70 percent complete with stump removal. This work is expected to be completed by the end of 2015.
