Bennet Woods, 66, Jun. 27, 1945 - Aug. 18, 2011

CDR Bennett R. Woods, USN (Ret.) of Wheaton, died Thursday, Aug. 18 at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. He was 66.

He was born in Portland, OR on June 27, 1945. He received his Bachelor's of Science in Chemistry from Willamette College of Salem, Oregon, and went on to receive his Master's of Science in Systems Management from the University of Southern California.

He served in the United States Navy for 20 years, including two years with the flight demonstration squadron known as the Blue Angels. He was an avid golfer and world traveler.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; two sons, Benjamin and Andrew; two grandchildren, Webley and Aaron; and many cousins.

A memorial service will take place at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26 at Cantigny Golf at 27W270 Mack Rd., Wheaton, IL 60189.
