Bloomingdale Man Charged With Fatally Strangling Nephew
Police say Dominick Taylor, 50, was arrested in Michigan Tuesday after a $2 million warrant was issued.
BLOOMINGDALE, IL — A Bloomingdale man has been charged with first-degree murder after prosecutors said he strangled his nephew to death. Dominick Taylor, 50, of the 200 block of Freeport Drive, fled to Michigan after the incident, police said, and will be extradited back to DuPage County.
According to the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office, Taylor strangled Damian B. Scott "on or between the 25th of April, 2020 and the 26th of April 2020." A $2 million warrant was issued for Taylor's arrest, and he was taken into custody in Lansing, Michigan, Tuesday.
DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said in a statement, "In the throes of a deadly pandemic, the apprehension of a man who allegedly fled the state after committing a brutal murder speaks volumes to the dedication of law enforcement in DuPage County."
