HELP CARE FOR NATURAL AREAS DURING "SPRING INTO VOLUNTEERING" WORKDAY
t Spring Creek Reservoir Forest Preserve in Bloomingdale, visitors may hook a largemouth bass, take a lunchtime stroll or simply relax on a bench to watch the clouds go by. Help make this popular location more enjoyable for all during the “Spring Into Volunteering” workday on Saturday, April 6 from 9 a.m. until noon.
“This workday is a way for anyone to give back to nature, and it provides great opportunity for individuals, families, youth groups and Scout troops to work together and see the results of their shared efforts,” said Chris Linnell, the District’s Volunteer Services supervisor.
Volunteers will be removing litter, so they should wear sturdy shoes and be prepared to work outdoors. Volunteers under 18 must have waivers signed by parents or guardians, and adults must accompany children under 14. To join “Spring Into Volunteering,” make reservations by April 1 by calling Volunteer Services at 630-933-7681.
Spring Creek Reservoir Forest Preserve is located on Lake Street (Route 20) one mile west of Interstate 355 in Bloomingdale.
