"MUSIC CAN TELL A STORY" FAMILY CONCERT MAY 18 AT MAYSLAKE PEABODY ESTATE
Explore musical instruments, and help choose the music during the “Music Can Tell a Story” family concert on Saturday, May 18 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County’s Mayslake Peabody Estate at 1717 W. 31st St. in Oak Brook.
Innovative and interactive performance group Fifth House Ensemble will lead this afternoon of creativity for ages 4 – 12. The event will begin with a “musical instrument petting zoo” where young musicians can try string instruments, make straw oboes and listen to notes produced from bottles filled with water. Fifth House Ensemble will demonstrate how instruments, melodies and rhythms can help music tell a story and will then have participants choose the music that will accompany an original story.
Adults must accompany all children. Tickets are $8 per person and are available by calling Mayslake Peabody Estate at 630-206-9566.
The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County owns and manages 25,000 acres of prairies, woodlands and wetlands.
