Self-taught improvisational cellist <a href="https://drewwiegman.com" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Drew Wiegman</a> will be performing live on Sunday, May 24th, 2026, from 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM at the <a href="https://www.prairiecenter.org/programs/prairie-arts-festival" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">37th Annual Prairie Arts Festival</a>, held on the beautiful grounds of the Al Larson Prairie Center for the Arts in Schaumburg, IL.
With over 845,000 followers on TikTok and millions of streams across Spotify and Apple Music, <a href="https://drewwiegman.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Drew Wiegman</a> is known for performing entirely by ear—blending classical, pop, film scores, and original music into a dynamic, genre-crossing performance. Schaumburg Prairie Arts Festival Featuring Live Cello by Drew Wiegman

Vascular &amp; Interventional Specialists (VIS) invites the community to celebrate the grand opening and ribbon cutting of its new Wheaton outpatient center on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM in partnership with the Wheaton Chamber of Commerce.
The new state-of-the-art facility brings advanced minimally invasive treatments to residents of DuPage County and the western suburbs. VIS specializes in image-guided procedures that can often serve as alternatives to surgery for conditions including enlarged prostate (BPH), uterine fibroids, peripheral artery disease, knee osteoarthritis, and other vascular conditions.
Guests will have the opportunity to tour the facility, meet the physicians and staff, learn about emerging treatment options, and see firsthand how advanced outpatient care is expanding access to specialized healthcare closer to home.
The event is open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.

The Community School of the Arts (CSA) at Wheaton College presents the Suzuki Concerto Concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 29.
Through auditions, Suzuki musicians perform concerto repertoire on piano, violin, viola and cello. The concert features high-level students demonstrating their skills and techniques. CSA invites anyone who enjoys classical music and is interested in learning more about CSA's programs to attend.

will explore the wet felting and dry needle felting painting
processes.&nbsp; Using simple tools and an easy to follow process, we will create individual compositions with beautiful colors of

The Forge Adventure Park

Kitties, Canines, and Cruisers is a one-of-a-kind collaborative animal welfare event bringing together rescues, shelters, businesses, riders, volunteers, and animal lovers from across the Chicagoland area for a full day of fundraising, community engagement, and lifesaving impact. Benefiting local animal rescue organizations, the event’s ambitious goal is to help facilitate 100 pet adoptions in a single day while raising awareness and support for homeless animals throughout the region. We are proud to have Petco Love as our Presenting Sponsor for this year’s event.
The day begins with the Motorcycle Rescue Rally from 9:00am–1:00pm. Riders will travel throughout the western suburbs visiting participating Rally Stops featuring local businesses, activities, giveaways, raffle opportunities, food and drink specials, photo ops, and community engagement opportunities — all while supporting Chicagoland animal rescues and shelters. Attendees can meet adoptable dogs and cats, shop local vendors, participate in raffles and activities, learn about local rescue efforts, and support organizations dedicated to improving animal welfare throughout the Chicagoland area.
Whether you ride, adopt, volunteer, sponsor, or simply attend, Kitties, Canines, and Cruisers offers a unique opportunity to support local animals while enjoying a fun, family-friendly community event.

St. Sophia's Forgotten Felines

he cats we care for at St. Sophia’s come from many different places. The majority of the cats we help are those that are helpless, who have not experienced love or a home, stray, abused, and neglected cats. Primarily we work with high-volume/high-kill animal controls to save cats from needless euthanasia. Our largest partner is Chicago Animal Care and Control. Other ACs we partner with are Aurora, Joliet Township, DuPage, Herrin, Marion, Quincy, Tilton, Union, Jasper, and Whiting. St. Sophia’s also works with local Trap-Neuter-Return organizations. Trap-Neuter-Return (also known as TNR) is a method of humanely trapping unaltered feral cats, neutering them, and releasing them back to the same environment where they were originally found. TNR is promoted by proponents as a humane and more effective alternative for managing and reducing feral cat populations (compared to euthanasia). While most cats trapped are completely feral (wild, without any domestic socialization), some cats—often kittens, or even adults that have been well cared-for outdoors—can, and have, become socialized and adoptable. TNR organizations aren’t equipped to handle the “friendlies” that come in, so we step in to assist those cats looking for homes. Lastly, some of our cats are direct owner surrenders. Sometimes circumstances have it that people are unable to care for their cats due to moving, eviction, financial issues, death, allergies, etc. We accept these cats in when we have space and maintain a waiting list of those who need assistance.
