Join the Abraham Lincoln Association for our fourth annual summer symposium on June 20th. 

Renowned Lincoln scholars will speak on various aspects of the 16th president's life and legacy, from his law practice and ethics to the inspiration he found in the Declaration of Independence.

The five speakers include:

·Michael Burlingame on “Lincoln and Colonization” - Undoubtedly one of the world’s preeminent Lincoln experts, Burlingame has written and edited twenty Lincoln books, including the definitive, two-volume biography Abraham Lincoln: A Life, designated one of the five best books of the year by The Atlantic.

·Roger Billings on “Lincoln - His Law Practice and Ethics” - Billings is a long-serving law professor at Northern Kentucky University Chase College of Law, known for his practical guidance to aspiring attorneys and scholarly contributions on legal issues.

·Robert Girardi on “Lincoln’s Relationship with the Common Soldier” - Girardi is a historian, author, speaker and past president of the Chicago Civil War Round Table, frequently presenting at Civil War Round Table meetings nationwide.

·Dennis Doyle on “Lincoln and the Irish” Doyle is a historian, educator and Civil War Round Table leader from Illinois, known for his expertise in Civil War history and his active role in preserving and sharing that history.

·Bill Shepherd on “Lincoln and the Declaration of Independence" - Shepherd is the immediate past president of the Abraham Lincoln Association and 20-year member of the organization’s Board of Directors. He is also a retired lawyer.

The Abraham Lincoln Association invites all history buffs for a day of learning and mingling with scholars and fellow enthusiasts. For current ALA members, the event is free.
