WHEATON, IL — A car was burglarized, a purse was stolen and a resident was scammed into sending money and personal information, according to the most recent blotter from the Wheaton Police Department.
Scammer Steals Money, Bank Info
A resident told police a person contacted them, claiming to be with McAfee Antivirus. The scammer duped the resident into sending funds and sharing bank information, per the police blotter. The incident took place on March 11.

Car Burglarized in 1300 Block of Roosevelt Road
A car was burglarized in the 1300 block of Roosevelt Road on March 15. According to police, a man got into the unlocked car around 11:40 p.m. and stole cash from the center console.

Retail Theft Reported at Nordstrom Rack
On March 18, a man came into Nordstrom Rack around 10:20 a.m., hid a pair of shoes on him and left the store without paying.
Purse Stolen from Cart at TJ Maxx
Police were called to the TJ Maxx at 62 Danada Square West on March 21 for a report of a stolen purse. According to the blotter, the purse was taken after it had been left in a shopping cart.
