WHEATON, IL — A car was stolen from a parking lot, bottles of liquor were swiped from a store and a building was burglarized, according to a recent crime blotter from the Wheaton Police Department.

Car Stolen on College Avenue

Police say a car was stolen from a parking lot in the 1000 block of College Avenue on May 31. The theft happened sometime between 2 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Retail Theft at Mariano's

A man came into the Mariano's at 625 S. Main St., filled a cart with liquor and left the store without paying. The incident took place just before 8 p.m. on May 26.

Building Burglarized on Willow Avenue

A resident told police someone damaged the back door of a home in the 100 block of Willow Avenue and forced the door open. The burglary happened sometime between 12 a.m. on May 22 and 4 p.m. on May 31.

Phone Scam

A resident received a phone call on May 21 from someone who claimed to be with the DuPage County Sheriff's Office. The caller scammed the victim out of cash.
