Chesterbrook Academy Principal Named Principal of the Year

Chesterbrook Academy Preschool in Wheaton is proud to announce Jen Elliott has been named Preschool Principal of the Year by its parent organization, Nobel Learning Communities, Inc. (NLCI). Elliott received the honor at NLCI’s annual principal conference, which was held In October in Las Vegas.

“I’m so honored and excited to see our school’s accomplishments recognized by our greater teaching community,” said Elliott. “This award is not just mine. It belongs to the dedicated teachers, families and staff who have prioritized student success and fostered relationships that make Chesterbrook Academy Preschool the caring, engaging and enriching community that it is today.”

The Preschool Principal of the Year award is presented annually to the principal who stands out among NLCI’s schools across the country for inspiring and motivating both students and staff. Elliott was honored for overseeing improvements and growth at the school and fostering a tight-knit collaborative community among students, teachers, staff and parents. As principal, Elliott has worked to grow and develop strong relationships with teachers through hands-on involvement in the classrooms, and has strengthened engagement with students and their families through school-wide activities, including an annual tree decorating event at the zoo, end-of-the-year summer pool parties and the yearly trunk or treat celebration.

“Jen puts full effort into all that she does and has built genuine connections with everyone she interacts with – from enrolled families to prospective families,” said Mary Ann Huss, Executive Director of Chesterbrook Academy Preschool. “She has high expectations for her staff, herself and the school community, which has resulted in school pride that exudes from every student, in every classroom.”

Elliott has served as a principal with NLCI for 11 years, and has been at Chesterbrook Academy Preschool for four years. She received a bachelor’s degree from Illinois State University in family and consumer sciences.

Chesterbrook Academy Preschool is located at 275 West Loop Road in Wheaton. The school serves students ages six weeks through Pre-K 2 and also offers before and after care and summer camp.
