City Seeks Feedback on Downtown Wheaton Plan With New Survey

The City of Wheaton opens another survey on the proposed ideas for downtown Wheaton.

From the City of Wheaton

If you were unable to attend last week’s open house presenting ideas for the long-term downtown plan being developed, the City encourages you to take this online survey so it can get your feedback about proposed ideas for Downtown Wheaton.

At the April 4 meeting, representatives from Design Workshop, the design consultant contracted to create a strategic and streetscape plan for Downtown Wheaton, presented a number of recommended improvements for various streets in Downtown Wheaton. The meeting also presented design options for a linear “central park” along the Prairie Path and other options designed to improve various areas within Downtown.

Now, you can provide guidance to the project team concerning the prioritization of improvements in downtown, including the preferred streets and the preferred types of improvements to be made to the various areas in downtown over the short term and long term. If you’d like to learn more about these ideas, you can watch a video of the presentation. You can share your opinions about these ideas through the online survey, which will help the design consultant determine which ideas the community most supports. The survey will be open through May 20.

You can also provide comments and feedback about a number of different topics related to Downtown Wheaton through the MindMixer online forum.

The City will host another public meeting in May to share more detailed information about the various ideas being considered as part of the long-term plan. More information will be posted on the City’s website about the next meeting.
