Construction To Close Part Of Prairie Path In Downtown Wheaton
Detours will be in effect starting Aug. 9 to accommodate work on the city's downtown streetscape project.

WHEATON, IL — Starting Monday, residents who use Prairie Path in downtown Wheaton can expect to encounter temporary detours due to closures along the path, as construction continues on the city's ongoing streetscape project.
Prairie Path will be closed going both eastbound and westbound between West and Reber Streets. Runners and walkers can travel via sidewalks along the suggested detour route, which will be indicated with signage. Cyclists are advised to ride on the street or walk their bikes along the sidewalk beginning at Willow Avenue.
The Prairie Path detours will be in effect for "several months," according to an update from the City of Wheaton, as crews remove and replace part of the path.
